Academic Innovation Grants Program 

The Academic Innovation Grants support faculty and department innovation and student-centeredness in teaching and learning through the integration of technology. 

Awards are from $1,000 - $30,000.

Funded projects address a problem or capitalize on an opportunity in the use of technology for teaching and learning. Projects are innovative, student-centered, and align with department priorities and collegiate goals. Grant recipients must develop an evaluation plan and commit to sharing their projects and outcomes with colleagues and others in CLA. 

A consultation with LATIS is required as part of the submission process. 

Proposals are due March 2, 2017

Who is eligible

CLA instructors (faculty and P&A). Staff also may apply, but a CLA instructor must be the principal investigator.

Proposal requirements

  • Required consultation with LATIS to discuss your project must be completed by February 17, 2017
  • Proposal (including letter of support from the dept. chair), must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on March 2, 2017

Expectations of grant recipients

  • Share projects and lessons learned with others in CLA 
  • Final report that includes an evaluation of the project
  • Make purchases or hires before deadlines outlined in the award letter
